Let's talk skin

Let’s talk makeup/skincare/no makeup- as a makeup artist, I’ve seen all kinds of skin- young, old, acned, scarred, pierced, wrinkly, tanned, smooth, tattooed and the rest. What I can tell you is that pretty much 100% of people aren’t happy with theirs and this makes me sad. What I can assure you is this- our skin is amazing, it protects us and keeps our insides inside, regulates our temperature and it our largest organ- be grateful for it and take care of it. Wear SPF, cleanse it properly daily even if you don’t wear makeup, moisturise (it doesn’t need to be expensive!) , try and eat a balanced nutritious diet (if it’s possible) and drink water, also make sure to get enough sleep. Please bare in mind that genetics plays a huge role as well- some people are just lucky!
Lets try and normalise that NO ONE has perfect skin. Let’s love what we have and take care of this precious organ!
If makeup makes you feel more confident then wear it, if you can’t be arsed with it, that’s cool too! It’s taken me 50 years to be comfortable in a bare face but grateful I am 🙏🏼
